Documents and translations

Original files, embedded images, and generated downloads stay on your device. We receive the text to translate, your chosen language, and document details needed to match the result to its original. We do not receive your original filename or file.

Requesting a price does not store your document text. Starting a translation temporarily saves that text and sends it to our translation provider. Source text is deleted promptly after success. Results are available for one hour after completion; unsuccessful translations expire one hour after starting. Expired text is deleted on a regular schedule, with a one-day storage limit as a backup. Limited translation records are kept for seven days after completion or failure.

We request that our translation provider does not store responses. This does not guarantee zero retention: the provider may retain abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days under its applicable policies. Do not submit documents if this handling is unsuitable for your needs.

Accounts and payments

We store account identifiers, hashed sign-in and recovery credentials, account sessions, credit transactions, and limited job metadata. Payment details are handled by Stripe’s hosted checkout. We do not receive full card numbers. Financial records may be retained where needed for accounting and payment disputes.

Support and feedback

Support messages and feedback are stored in our separate private mailbox. Feedback includes your comments, selected answers, optional reply email, and your account reference if signed in. A reply address does not become a sign-in identity. Active conversations and their attachments remain until trashed; trashed conversations are eligible for deletion after thirty days. Please leave out confidential documents and credentials.

Browser storage and abuse controls

An essential browser identifier supports the daily free allowance and guest history. Authentication uses secure HTTP-only cookies. We use hashed network and account identifiers for rate limits. Document contents and original files are not placed in browser local storage or application logs.

Your choices

Download results before they expire. Use “Remove” to delete server-side text. You can request account deletion from the account page or contact support@document-translator.com.
